![]() ![]() It helps to sync the Philips Hue lights with your PC. ![]() Together with the Smart Button, this is a really great solution for me. Also known as the Hue Play HDMI sync box, it is a critical component in your Philips Hue setup. Follow the prompts to connect your Spotify account with the Philips Hue app. When the app asks how you want to sync your lights, tap the Spotify account button and then tap Next. Watch a movie, binge the latest show, or play a game with lights that brighten, dim, and change color along with the action on the screen. I find this much more attractive than three Play Lightbars (which would even be significant) or the Ambiance Gradient Lightstrip (which is difficult to attach behind a screen). From the home screen of the Philips Hue smartphone app, select the Sync icon at the bottom, then tap the Get Started button. There are two ways to do it: the Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box or Hue Sync TV app. If you’ve added a Philips Hue Lightstrip behind your monitor or can connect a PC or Mac to your TV, syncing your lights with TV shows, movies or even games will be a whole lot easier. Price-wise, the multi-coloured Lightstrip is currently 128 euros for smaller screens and 146.99 euros for larger screens. I have created various scenes here that include not only the Play Gradient light strip behind the monitor, but also the Hue ceiling lighting. The smart button fits perfectly there and allows me to switch through five scenes and also dimming. Sync your Philips Hue smart lights to your monitor, letting your lights react to every action on the screen. ![]() I recently switched to a Flexispot desk and still have to do some painting work on the wall behind the 32-inch screen, but I have already taken care of the appropriate control: a Hue Smart Button is magnetically attached to the frame of the desk, right next to the buttons for height adjustment. Moreover, nothing stands around on the desk and becomes a dust catcher. Nevertheless, I find the multi-coloured and, with white tones, also very bright lighting effect behind the monitor really great and pleasant for the eyes. I don’t need the lighting to change just because I move a mainly white window to a corner of the screen. What provides an Ambilight-like effect for gaming is not quite as suitable for office work in my view. ![]()
